Traveling to a Mountain State Park

In the high lands of West Texas is a magnificent and beautiful and historic park which can be explored during day time, is available for overnight stay and other outdoor activities. There are miles and miles of trails, during the night you can stay up late and stare at the marvelous night sky or learn about the history of the park from their rangers. Because it is a mountainous area, you can do hiking, mountain climbing, biking or if you have your own horse, do horseback riding, if you have plenty of gas in your car then you can have a scenic drive through the mountainsides, go camping with your friends and loved ones or just be amazed with the vastness of the park and study nature. There is an Indian lodge in the mountains with a good number of rooms, a restaurant, function rooms and meeting rooms plus swimming pools. This lodge is capable of holding enough number of persons for your gatherings and occasions. There are other places that you can rent out for your picnics and gatherings. If you are fond of birds, then you will want to stay longer in the park, there is a viewing station where you can look out for rare birds, local birds and other migratory birds in the area. Included in the viewing station are bird feeding and watering station. You can also visit the interpretive center that can discuss to you things about birds and their habitat. There is a four mile skyline drive trail that goes up and down the valleys, a two mile trail that connects the park with a historic site. If you do not want to walk or ride your bike, then make use of the horses. There are trails for your horse and you can ride in the day, camp over the night and again ride in the morning. Horse riding will take you over four hundred feet above sea level for a scenic overview of the park. There are equestrian campsites for your horse riding pleasure so that you will be able to continue with your trail and not come back to your point of origin every time darkness falls.
